How to choose a Mans Wedding Ring
Follow these 4 simple steps and you can't go wrong.
As a Guy, finding the perfect Wedding Ring can seem like a nightmare scenario. The options seem endless and without an understanding of where to start the whole process can for some Guy's be a step too far. "What shape should I choose? What width? Do I want a plain band or a patterned one?"
We have put this email together to give you the basic rules. Follow these four simple steps and you cannot go wrong.
All Men's Wedding Rings come with two internal shapes. These are Comfort Fit or Standard Fit. The difference between these two options physically is that the Comfort fit simply has a little extra metal inside the ring which gives it a bow. This bow allows the ring to glide over the knuckle with a silky-smooth feel. A ring without this can feel sharp and slightly less comfortable due to the edge of the ring not being rounded. If you go to the gym, play sports, enjoy DIY or anything which involves using your hands, you would certainly find that the Comfort fit is a better choice. The price difference between the two is not massive so well worth it for a life-time of comfort. Look at the images below to see the difference between the Comfort Fit and Standard Fit.
Wedding Rings come in four different outer profiles. Essentially there are two with a flat profile and two with a curved. You can see these options in the image below. Very simply, the difference between the two flat options as well as the curved is that one of each has the comfort fit as talked about in step 1. Most of us have a preference to either a Flat Shape or a Curve. Ask yourself, which you would prefer and if the Comfort Fit is something you would like. The answer to these two questions will give you your basic shape to look for.
The next step is to choose the width of the ring. This is very easy as it is a simple case of aesthetics. Look at your Wedding Ring finger. You will see that there is a distance between your two knuckles. The way to determine what width is perfect for you is to divide this area into three parts. Your Wedding Ring should simply take up the middle section. You can see this in the image below.
The final step to creating the perfect Wedding Ring is the metal you choose. There are 6 choices. You will see these below.
There is one metal from these 6 which stands out to be the best all-rounder. This is Palladium 950. The reason for this is that Palladium offers the Groom all the attributes of Platinum but without the price tag. The reason for the price being lower is not to do with the metal being of a lower quality which you might think but it is simply that compared to Platinum, the market value of Palladium is lower due to it being used less in industry. Plus, the mass of the Platinum is greater than Palladium. So, combined with the lower gram weight to the Platinum, you have the price difference. So, if you are looking for a lovely strong metal which will wear well day in and day out, Palladium is a great metal to consider.
If you would like a yellow metal, gold offers two options. These are 9k Yellow or 18k Yellow Gold. 9k holds half the amount of Gold of 18k so it is obvious that the 18k ring will cost more. 18k is a brighter shade of yellow than 9k so be sure to check if you prefer one over the other.
Yellow Gold is very much back in fashion these days so why not consider it? It is the Gentleman’s choice! The bestselling styles today are the Court Shape and Flat Court shape. These both have the comfort fit mentioned in step 1. If you would like a pattern to be added to your ring, this is something which is chosen once the basic ring width and style is chosen. Here at Two Become One we offer a very large range of patterns. If you have seen one on the high street which you like, why not take a picture and email it to us or bring it in. We will be only too happy to offer it to you.
